Converting Improper Fractions to Mixed Fractions

Hello viewers! It’s twinklet05. Today, I will be teaching you how to convert improper fractions into mixed fractions. Check out my previous math tutorial for more on mixed fractions and improper fractions. So let’s begin the process. First, you must divide the numerator by the denominator. In the example above, it would be 15 divided by 2. The answer would be 14. Then, you continue the long division process, and subtract 14 from 15. The answer to that would be 1. Since there is nothing left to bring down, 1 would be your remainder. Now for all the placing. Your quotient (2, in this case) will be your whole number. Your remainder (1) will be your numerator. The denominator of your original improper fraction (7) will be the denominator. The answer is 2 and 1/7.
